Coleen O'Keefe passed away peacefully on April 21, 2024 in Crystal Lake, IL.

Coleen was born to R. Daniel "Danny" & Vivian "Babe" Malone on July 14, 1950 in Chicago.

Throughout the 70s & 80s, Coleen owned several successful retail businesses and was very active in downtown Crystal Lake.

Coleen was a longtime friend of Bill W. She was lifted up by her AA family in meetings and frequent visits, for which her family is filled with gratitude. She had shared her courage, strength, and hope with many.

Coleen spent the last nearly two years of her life being the best human she could be; which allowed her bonds to grow stronger. She was sassy in the most endearing way. Her big brown eyes were windows to her soul.

The family is very grateful for the care provided to Coleen by the staff of Transitions Hospice and The Pearl. She was their mascot and she loved them all.

Coleen is survived by daughters Mary Beth O'Keefe and Katie (Matt) Wise; Granddaughters Shelby O'Keefe, Juliet & Ava Wise; and Great Granddaughter Vivienne "lil' Babe" O'Keefe; brother David (Linda) Malone; and many nieces and nephews.

Coleen was preceded in death by her parents, brother Sean Malone, sister Linda Jesse, nephews David Charles Malone and Danny Cunningham.

She will be terribly missed and forever in our hearts.

There will be a gathering to remember Coleen on Friday. May 10, 2024 3:00pm - 7:00 pm in the Fellowship Hall of First Congregational Church at 461 Pierson St, Crystal Lake, IL 60014.

Rest easy, Mom, Nana, Coleen, "little c", "Needles", your spirit and messages will be felt and heard for years to come.
