That's a very good tribute, Nancy. I remember Karla from church and a past reunion as a kind hearted person.

When I moved to C.L. in '61, Karla lived 3 doors away.  My dad gave me $ for the ice cream guy and told me to buy something for the girl up the street.  I did, I took it to her, only to be rejected because her mom cut me off - Karla had braces and couldn't have it!!  Shot down!!!!   Karla was always a friend to me.  Steve E., myself, and Karla were comfirmed together, I think - along with Steve Schaefgen and Jim Sweet.  Memories -  I'm thankful to be alive to have and share - even IF some are "cloudy"

Thanks, Steve.  I don't know what happened to her, and it makes her passing even sadder.

It seems like we have more classmates on 'In Memory' than there should be.  I know we're older, and we must expect this, but it still hits a bit hard me when I see a classmates gone, especially one like Karla.

Ron, I think Karla would have liked that ice cream very much!

I was working at Wede's Shoes on Main Street.  Karla worked at a shop next door.  Almost asked her out but didn't quite get there. We talked a lot.  I really liked her.

Like many of you it saddens me to see so many names of people we all knew make their transition, so early,

It's a reminder to make every day count. It doesn't have to be exciting to be memorable. Be present for yourself and others.

My years in CL were a great foundation for life today.

I spent alot of time with Karla we had many overnights and short trips.  I remember

her huge garage and building Homecoming floats there.  Her father had so many cars it

was unbelievable.  I feel so sad and can't believe she is gone.  She had a great laugh and

a big smile.  She was a nice person.

Although I was only at CLCHS junior and senior years,  I remember Karla well.  I remember, too, her wedding and how lovely and happy she was.   It was quite a shock to hear of her passing so many years ago.  She was very kind and it seemed to me her highest priority was to love and be loved.

My fondest memory of Karla was when she called me one day and asked if I would take a ride with her in her Dad's 1929 16 cylinder Lincoln convertible. I had to take my shoe off to step on the crome step to get into the rumble seat & then her Dad wiped off the step! Karla's parents were getting ready to drive the car to Niagra Falls for their anniversary and I always imagined how much time he would be spending cleaning up the car! He owned Wauconda Tool & Die so could make parts for cars. Karla and I dated several times, we were just good friends. May she rest in peace.

In recent years Karla came to mind due to those thought that survive the mind after near death experience. WE never dated or for that mater had any close friendship...you ask why my remembrance...simple really she was a kind soul who over a chance seat accross from me had kind words for this young mans soul on a troubling senior day of CLCHS...what was the topic is not important...Her kind way kept focused on a path to lift my soul...rest in peace Karla! May HE continue to shine on your heart and help you and yours! God Bless...Dennis K.
