Dennis Green, 56, of Champaign, died at 11:15 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 30, 2006) at Provena Covenant Medical Center, Urbana.
He was born April 15, 1950 in Cleveland, Tennessee, a son of R.V. and Nellie Graves Green. He married Cheryl Krivacek on Aug. 21, 1971 in Riverside. She survives.
Survivors also include his mother of Crystal Lake; a daughter, Jennifer Harris of Omaha, Nebraska; a brother, Larry Green of Crystal Lake; two sisters, Sandra Malinowski of Woodstock and Deborah Hensley of Capron and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father and a brother.
Mr. Green graduated from Crystal Lake Community High School in 1968 and the University of Illinois in 1973 with a bachelor's degree in economics. He was a member and financial secretary of Carpenter's Union Local 44 and was a carpenter since 1974. He was a grand state chancellor of Knights of Pythias and a member of Champaign Ski Club. Mr. Green enjoyed traveling in Europe, visiting Mayan ruins and white-water rafting.

Dennis was a cheerful guy (even as a general contractor)! When I last say him at a reunion I was flattered and stunned (Did I say flattered?) that he said I had really changed. I think Dennis appreciated people.
